
She has been training in the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam since she was five years old under the tutelage of her Guru, Acharya Jayalakshmi Eshwar at Triveni Kala Sangam. She has won the Government of India’s “Centre for Cultural Resources and Training” (CCRT) Scholarship in Bharatanatyam. She also has previously participated in many intra and inter school competitions across Delhi.
Alongside dance, she has been learning the piano under the guidance of Mrs Kerman Mehta for the past nine years and has completed five grades of Classical Piano at Trinity College, London. She is currently preparing for her grade five exam. Also, she is training in the classical form of vocal music in the Carnatic style for the past six years under Prof. P. B. Kanna Kumar, Professor, Department of Music, University of Delhi. Additionally, Ananya enjoys theatre and has participated in the Little Actors Club workshop led by Feisal Alkazi and has performed in two productions.
Besides the arts, Ananya is very compassionate towards animals and plays a vital role in running of the Animal Shelter - The Purple Patch Trust, a shelter for abandoned and abused small animals, which she helped establish along with her parents and sister. She also loves to bake and cook during her holiday time.
Ananya is an aspiring student of the arts with an interest in visual and performing arts.
